I was born in San Francisco, raised in a small town in the East bay, and now attend college at UC Berkeley, so San Francisco has always been my city. I have loved living right next to SF my whole life, and I am definitely biased (but I think many can agree) that it is the prettiest city in the U.S. San Francisco is great for many reasons. It has so much to offer both in and out of the city. SF has a variety of districts that vary in culture, sights, and activities. From San Francisco you can drive out to Napa Valley, Marin Headlands, Santa Cruz, Carmel-by-the-Sea, and Lake Tahoe, to name a few. The best part of SF is the combination of the city, ocean, mountains, and year-round fair weather. I like having both the city and outdoors available!
Ina Coolbrith Park is located in Russian hill and is the best view of the San Francisco skyline.
The Golden Gate Bridge is the most iconic sight in SF, and is best viewed from Fort Point, Land’s End, or the Marin Headlands.
The Ferry Building has an awesome market with fresh produce and other locally made products. There are also a few yummy restaurants and cafes. Out back you get a great view of the Bay Bridge and Alcatraz Island.
The Painted Ladies are the classic Victorian houses located in Alamo Square.
The Mission District has many cool shops to explore. Valencia Street has endless stores to peak into.
Also in the Mission District, is the best Mexican Restaurant in the city! I highly recommend La Taqueria.
The best brunch in SF is at Plow, which is located in the Dog Patch. It is known for it’s Californian style farm-to-table cuisine.
Stop by Mr. Holmes Bakehouse for yummy pastries and coffee!
