Big Sur is my favorite place in California. Big Sur is one of the most beautiful places. The mountains and Pacific meet, redwood trees line the coastal mountains, and baby blue swells form between the rocks below. Hwy 1 stretches down the Big Sur coast and winds along the cliffs that overlook the Pacific.
The drive itself is such a view. There are so many cool places to explore in Big Sur- from the beaches to the hikes. Big Sur is so isolated, with little to no phone service, so it is the perfect little roadtrip get-a-way.
Bixby Bridge is one of the most famous photography sites on the highway.
Sierra Mar at Post Ranch Inn is one of my favorite restaurants in the world! It is farm to table cuisine and has the most beautiful views of the Pacific.
McWay Falls is located in Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park, and is my favorite view in California. The little waterfall and cove doesn’t even look real. It looks like it is out of a little paradise. The water is a stunning baby blue color and the white sand beach is untouched. Although it is quite a drive, it is well worth the trip. My favorite hiking spot is also out of the McWay Falls area too.
