Hong Kong was AMAZING! I was mesmerized by the city. Hong Kong has such a different culture than any other city I had ever visited. The city itself is incredible. Thousands of high-rises are built around the famous harbor and steep, green mountains pop up all around the city.
The Peak, located on Hong Kong island is the best view of the city. Located about a thousand miles up on the mountains, the shopping center and balcony offer panoramic views of the high-rises and harbor. It is the best way to take in the entirety of the city.
The central part of the city is located on Hong Kong Island. The city streets are narrow, hilly, and run in all directions. The city is compact, populated, and bustling. There are farmer’s markets, meat markets, and concession stands running up down alley ways. It was amazing to be immersed in a city that is so different than the western culture I am accustomed to. I loved it.
Duddell’s 都爹利會館 is located in central Hong Kong. Duddell’s serve upscale Chinese cuisine on a cute patio. They are most famous for their dumplings.
The W Hong Kong offers amazing accommodations. It is located in Kowloon, which is a part of the city that is directly across from Hong Kong Island, which makes it another prime location for views. The spa is beautiful and it is famous for it’s rooftop pool!
The Chi Lin Nunnery is a buddhist temple located in Kowloon, Hong Kong. The temple community is styled after traditional Tang Dynasty architecture. The temple is a gorgeous complex and a piece of serenity right inside the busy city. The temple offers a look inside an active retreat dedicated to Buddhist practice and rituals for monks.
One of my favorite parts of my Hong Kong trip was the night harbor tour. The Aqualuna is a cruise in a traditional Chinese boat that tours the harbor at night for the best views of the famous Hong Kong city lights.
